Mike began his interest in the world of Physical Culture at an early age. He first became interested in strength while watching World’s Strongest Man on tv as a young boy, and perusing the muscle mags, inspired by the likes of John Grimik, Steve Reeves, etc. He has a varied and extensive athletic background that includes  Track and Field, Swimming, Strongman, Highland Games, and a 20 year career in the US Navy.
